Those went so well she brought Drummer on as a volunteer assistant for the next season. So about halfway through the weeks-long class, Saleem believes, she approached Drummer about leading a couple cardio classes for her team in the spring of 2018. The way Drummer motivated and critiqued his audience in a way that was constructive, not destructive, impressed her. The way Drummer interacted with each individual, some of whom had special needs, comforted them all despite how uncomfortable the dancing might have felt. The way Drummer’s presentation pulled everyone - from teenagers to those Saleem’s age, from novice dancers to quality ones - in went above and beyond what she expected.
